Took a little road trip to Ann Arbor this weekend and saw one of my favorite bands: Carbon Leaf. The weather was great, if a little hot. The guys put on another fabulous show. It's nice to get a live little inspiration now and then.

Band Search

I'm auditioning some time in the near future for another band. It's an acoustic guitar singer/songwriter kind of gig. The first song on her demo reminded me a bit of Ani DiFranco and I really liked all of her stuff. Now I just have to find some time this week to sit down and listen through everything, pick out a couple songs, and learn them.

This will be my last week playing at the church for awhile. I'm going to Ann Arbor next weekend, and then my schedule is just a mess after that. It's been a lot of fun, and I've had the chance to play under some interesting circumstances. You just can't beat the learning experience of sightreading a song in weird time live, or trying to jazz up old protestant hymns. I'm sure I'll be back there every once and awhile. But I'm also looking forward to a little break.
