Misc. Updates

Played with that rock band a few times, but haven't heard anything in the past week. I really enjoyed playing with them and dug the music, but I think I may continue looking for a band since they haven't called back.

I received a $50 gift card of my choice at work and chose Guitar Center. So I bought a SansAmp Bass Driver DI box which I am loving. I can get lots of wicked tones out of that little box.

Just wrapped up playing a series at the baptist church. I'm taking this weekend off, but am playing with both church bands the following week. Hopefully I'll get to run the BDDI live.

In non-music news, my car is getting a new alternator today. That's $320 I would have rather saved. And it needs to have the rear struts replaced... another $500. One of my coworkers works on cars and can do struts, so I'm hoping he can get me cheap parts (and his labor is around $50) and get those fixed within a couple of weeks.

Making the Band

I think I've finally found a band! After a few months of looking, I ran across an add for an alternative rock kind of rock band. After speaking with the drummer/band leader I was already really excited. Currently they have a female lead singer, drummer, and guitarist. The drummer wrote most of the songs on keys, and the singer is working on adding some keyboard parts.

I've been to two rehersals with them and am joining them again next week. They're all super fun people and excited about creating music.
